When did the ONIX last go for this product to my distributor?

  • From the products or works page, click on the three dots on the relevant row and choose View previous ONIX. If ONIX has never been sent for this product, the option will be greyed out.
  • See the list of the products sent in ONIX, filtered to show records just for your product. The listing shows the number of files the ONIX data was included in.

  • Click on the Times used in ONIX files count to get to the ONIX files page, and expand the row by clicking on it to see the recipients’ template that drove each transmission. Your distributor will be one of them.

  • Click on File Contents to see the other books it contained data for.

  • Click Transmissions to see whether the ONIX was received OK in the Successful transmission? column.

Alternatively, do the following.

  • Go to ONIX > File Transmissions.
  • Search by product name or ISBN and infer that it’s not been sent if it’s not in the results.

Alternatively, do the following.

  • Go to the work or product listing page.
  • On the panel, note the links labelled ONIX history.
  • If there is no link provided for your ONIX, it has not been sent.

Has data for my product been sent in ONIX to my distributor / Nielsen?

What ONIX has my distributor received recently?

To see all files received by them, do the following.

  • Go to ONIX > File transmissions and look for your distributor.
  • Click through on the most recent file to see its contents.

Which contacts are set up to receive ONIX and when?

  • Go to ONIX > Templates
  • Review to see who receives what ONIX, when.

Why didn’t the ONIX go for this product to my distributor?

  • Have you set Allow ONIX exports to yes?
  • Have you checked the data? ONIX won’t run if there is no ISBN, imprint or other recipient-specific data
  • Have you checked the last batch to see if there are issues identified at the point of sending ONIX? Go to File batches > Edit on the batch for the recipient you’re interested in. Click on the results count for ONIX not generated because preconditions were not met and scroll down to see the errors.

How do I set up a contact to receive ONIX?

  • Expand the row and Click here to open the file for the relevant flavour e.g. Amazon, ONIX 2.1

Did this image / epub file go out in ONIX?

  • Go to ONIX > Media transmissions
  • Scroll to find the image / epub file
  • Review the results to see when the asset was last sent and to who.
