To-dos are stored in the Consonance database in a sort of hierarchy, rather than a single record, which poses problems when you want to see the data in a flattened state, as in a spreadsheet row. Here is what we advise if you want to export to-dos to Excel via the custom reports feature.

Use the following set of naming conventions in your to-dos, which were specified in consultation with key clients. Use these exact words, although they are not case sensitive: Manuscript To Production can be used instead of Manuscript to production.

  • Manuscript delivery
  • Manuscript received by Editorial
  • Manuscript to Production
  • Text to copy editor
  • Edited text and images to design
  • First layouts
  • Files to repro and indexer
  • P&P decision
  • Files to press
  • Advance copies received
  • Ex works
  • Delivered to warehouse

In order to achieve consistency in naming to-dos, set up these to-dos on one work, by copying and pasting the words from this help doc to the work’s to-dos, then use the Copy from button on any work’s to-dos page to copy them to subsequent works, over time.

The following fields are available in the to-dos section of the Product custom report:

  • Advance copies received: assignee
  • Advance copies received: done date
  • Advance copies received: due date when done
  • Advance copies received: due date
  • Delivered to warehouse: assignee
